Picard (um... Star Trek Captain, Friends) as the idolized American Leader in this blog from the Center of Creative Leadership. This is a happy place for me -- leadership lessons from a sci fi character. Nerds need leader too.

Especially appreciate this thought about the needs of the ideal modern leader: "And how is it that Picard is so respected as a leader even now, 20 years after his "invention?" I think mainly because his leadership style fits with the problems we're currently facing. From Picard, we can learn how to lead sustainably – building and maintaining a high-performing team, developing others yet also retaining top talent; acknowledging people (and other species) in their entirety and caring for their emotional and physical well-being as much as, if not more than, their work output."

Today was good.
Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.

Cogitate on this: "Leadership is an attitude." (Quote my company's esteemed President Emeritus shared with our leadership class today.) Would folks say you are a leader in life?
